Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area in The West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" area. It is the West Island, to those who have never heard of it, is an extensive region that runs from Lachine all the way west. Many times, it is credited as the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay in the city was brief. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. She aspired to be an elite dancer, however due to a rapid expansion, she outgrew every one of her dance friends. In an article in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. When I grew out of male companions, I began to stop. Dancers who have been in the past often switch to acting, and Brugel wasn't an exception. An instructor in drama at her high school pushed her in the direction she was looking for. The teacher who suggested she take on a part in the school's annual production. The teacher who suggested she play a character in the annual school production. The show led her to receive being awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and earned A Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. For the last twenty years, Brugel's career has seen her appearing in a variety of films and television productions. Her most famous role was as Rita (shown beneath) in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian in the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and was only seen on occasion, was the only Canadian.
